MetaLib is a bibliographic management application tool
that not only helps academic researchers to collect, compile, and add value to bibliographic data,
but also focuses on the implicit context and trend relationship among bibliographies,
providing a bird's eye view and observation of the data as a whole.
This tool can be roughly divided into four stages of use,
which are bibliographic data import, bibliographic data cleaning and value-added,
bibliographic application, and bibliographic data export.
Bibliographic data import stage
This tool provides the following two batch import methods, please click the "Import Bibliographic Data" button.
- Import MetaLib Json file: Open existing bibliographic data.
- Batch import from the National Taiwan University Buddhist Studies Digital Library: Go to the National Taiwan University Buddha Map page, select the desired bibliography, and click the bibliography to export to MetaLib.
If you are using this tool for the first time, please use "Batch Import from the Buddhist Studies Digital Library of National Taiwan University";
If you already have a MetaLib Json file, please use "Import MetaLib Json File".
If you need other data sources, please click the "Add Single Bibliography" button to manually create bibliographic data.
Bibliographic data cleaning and value-adding stage
- Bibliographic Archives:
1. From the "Archive Folders" section on the left, create, delete, and edit folders.
2. From the "Bibliographic Information" section on the right, select the desired bibliography and move it into or out of the folder.
- Bibliographic data editor:
1. Double-click the data field to be modified. When a black frame appears around the field together with a text cursor inside the field, the editing mode is activated.
2. After editing, please click the "Save" button to save the current editing progress.
Bibliography application
Click the "Create Personal Database" button at the bottom of the bibliographic data block, and follow the instructions to log into the DocuSky system to access the bibliographic application stage.
This tool interfaces with the DocuSky digital humanities academic research platform to automatically build a personal bibliographic database to provide micro and macro information retrieval strategies.
Bibliographic data export
Before closing this tool window, make sure to click the "Download MetaLib Json" button to save the editing progress of the current bibliographic data.
